Time To Get Moving!!!
Posted by Les under: Depression; Exercise/Workouts; Weekly Weigh-In .
So K had therapy on Thursday… and we did start her on meds finally. We will see how things go!
In the mean time, her doctor and I started talking about me… and we got on the subject of my weight. She told me about a new medication that is out for diabetics to help lose weight. I have an appointment with the PCP tomorrow to discuss it. In the mean time she told me to get a treadmill and put it in front of the TV. She told me it didn’t matter how fast I walk as long as I go the distance. I talked to Ken about it, told him he could get me one for Christmas. He told me to look on Freecycle… so I posted a wanted: Treadmill. I got a reply… well actually 2… 1 of which was for sale for $50. The other was a nortic track… which I am picking up tomorrow! They are quieter anyway
Basically I have been told I ‘HAVE’ to get this weight off. If you haven’t seen the pictures of Ken… they are on my flickr on Crayons. I think I will put them on this one too. He has lost that from watching what he eats and walking. I lost 3 lbs since about Thursday just from watching what I eat as well. I had put some back on cuz I wasn’t giving a shit! We had pictures taken at Ken’s Christmas party, and I look so bad in pictures. I am HUGE! It just amazes me. We were watching The Biggest Loser this season… and I realized I weigh about the same a some of those women did at their starting weight. (yup, and after the finale on Wednesday I printed out an application and started filling it out!)
I am also going to start updating here more often as well… so you can check back!!!

Hello Leslie,
I would be interested in finding out the name of the medication to help diabetics lose weight. Lord knows I need some help.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday.

The advice about walking sounds like what my midwife told me. Just walk for the distance, don’t worry about how long it takes you. You’ll be surprised at how much easier it gets each time. And how much faster you’ll get as you keep at it.

Good Luck Leslie. I have had a treadmill for many years and it is in front of the tv. You can do it. Take care Rose.
