| Thirteen Things I Am Planning To Do During Our Blizzard
Since the weather men are convinced that we are going to have a blizzard tomorrow, of course we won’t see near the snow amounts they are thinking, but just in case, here is a list of things I would like to do while we are stuck in the house!! UPDATE: We got it… and it is Coming down out there!!!! It is just beautiful! I knew it was deep when I went to let the dog out and the now was actually to the window part of the door!!!
1. Sleep In (but since it is my day off already…) Totally forgot that I would actually be wide awake at 6 AM with the TV on and the radio…
2. Catch up on Email. Since we have moved, I am not on the computer nearly as much… probably cuz the computer is not in the middle of the family room!
3. Watch some movies
4. Make an apple pie (I bought the stuff to do that when I was stocking up on food for the house… yet another reason it won’t snow!)
5. Watch the dd play in the snow
6. Try out the new gas fireplace (we haven’t lit it since we moved in… matter of fact, we don’t even have the pilot light lit… the landlord lit it and dh turned it off)
7. Watch the dog playing in the snow (have I mentioned that she is a SNOW dog!!! ;)) At least when the snow is deep enough to walk over the fence, this time she will only get to a neighbors house and not the park!! It is up to her belly already… and she doesn’t have short legs… she is in HEAVEN!!!
8. Pick up the dd from school early (cuz they have pushed it back, so I am thinking they won’t get their snow day tomorrow, but an early release cuz of the blizzard conditions) We are actually shocked… it started snowing about 3, by 6 am most of the city is shut down, including ALL of the school districts and dh’s work is even listed… he didn’t believe me until he saw it himself!!!
9. Unpack a few boxes. Maybe get some of the desk ones done (yah, the cars are still not in the garage, which is going to totally bite with the snow amounts they are predicting)
10. Walk over and watch the neighbors trying to dig out of our old col-de-sac (yah, that is definitely one thing that I WILL not miss about the old house… oh the drifts were horrible!!!)
11. Reminise about the Blizzard of 97… Snowed in at the church with 22 youth and 7 months PG… they said 4 TO 8 inches when I left home… I was in sandles… and we got 48 inches!! And this time we actually have a digital camera, so I won’t have the same problem of NO FILM for the camera. Man, I still can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of that 15+ foot drift in our back yard… it was a strait wall that was taller than the house!!
12. Make a nice roast and fresh warm bread for dinner. (it just sounds really good to have fresh warm bread when it is cold outside)
13. Make a nice homemade soup for lunch… and eat it in bed while watching a movie
Ok, so I probably won’t get it all done, but should we actually get the 10-16 inches they are predicting for our area, I figure we will be out of school the rest of the week, so I will get a nice 4 day weekend and can enjoy. In the mean time… check back tomorrow to see if you can get any pictures on my Pikes Peak cam!!
Hey, if you pray, keep our Walk To Emmaus in your prayers this weekend… it was suppose to start today… and of course, it is in Westcliffe… which is expecting over 2 feet. I think getting them there is the biggest issue, once they get there, it is suppose to be beautiful the rest of the weekend!!!
