Crayons, Playdoh & Wax

So K and I are headed home tomorrow. It is always fun going and visiting, but I am truly a home body, and am looking forward to getting home. My bp has been really ugly since I have been here, so I am going back to my other medication until I talk to my PCP on Tuesday (I have to go in for my ADD medication anyway)

It has been beautiful down here… and we did miss snow at home… so that is good but I am looking forward to the nice cool evenings again.

Last night we took the kids and my cousin (who arrived yesterday) up South Mountain. The oldest nephew of course wanted to know why, but it is so cool up there at night. I still can’t get over how big this valley has gotten… even my sister was shocked from the view up there… the lights never end except where they run into the mountains. I had to laugh, cuz my cousins dd, Kelsy, has never seen mountains at all, and K and I are thinking… these are more like hills I told her if she wants to see ‘MOUNTAINS’ to have her mom bring her to Colorado!!!

My sisters show is doing really well, so that is good. I need to run to the bank… and then we will get it closed out tonight before I leave. It is so cool that I can log onto my computer from here… at least I asked dh far enough ahead of time that he could get it set up for me to log in remotely. Some good features of XP More when I get home… probably not until Sunday.

And it isn’t even summer. Granted, it isn’t outside, it is just the room I am in. Yup, I am in Phoenix for the week. My newest nephew is being baptized in the morning. I got to spend yesterday holding him… but then my sister said that he was cranky last night cuz he didn’t spend enough time with her, so I figure it won’t happen much more this week.

Last night I spent the night helping my SIL decorate wedding cakes. I have mentioned before that she is Tongan. Well in Tonga, the tradition is to have cakes for the bride and cakes for the groom that are provided by the family. We decorated 30 cakes last night. I really enjoyed being able to help. I wasn’t going to the wedding, or helping set up, until my brother called in a panic today cuz they couldn’t find the roses (in the right color) for the tops of the cake. So I made phone calls til I found some… as Costco… (Sam’s didn’t have Pink). So, Mom and ran to get the flowers and drop them off… and then my brother calls in another panic cuz they forgot the box with the fountain and a bunch of the legs. Oops… that one is really important… so my dad got the box and we met him, picked it up and went to take them to the SIL & brother. Mom and I stayed and helped get it all set up. It is just so beautiful. I know there are pictures of a Tongan cake… it might have been the birthday cake from the nieces 1st birthday, but those are just as big. I took a picture with my phone, but you know how good phone pictures are. I am waiting for the brother to share me a picture. It was all done in white and pink. It was really pretty. I didn’t get home (to mom’s) until after 4 am… and thanks to my new medication, I was up at 8:30. Yup, still don’t sleep in anymore.

I am heading to bed. I am so tired, and I had to do the dishes, cuz my brother went to bed and fell asleep instead of doing them as he said he would. I am going to buy my mom one of the padded floor mats for the kitchen like I have at home, or I am not going to be helping in the kitchen much. It doesn’t help that I am SOOOO swollen. I don’t know what it is, but every time I come down here, it is like I turn into a water balloon!!! Have a great Sunday… Happy Spring break everyone!!

So, I kept being told that I couldn’t get my PC website, until I was qualified (which is turning in 4 shows or $1250 in sales, which ever comes first). So tonight I was playing around on the website… looking at the stuff to set up my personal website. My director said that I would just get bumped out if I tried to set it up early. Guess what??? It didn’t bump me out. And I now have a website!!

The cool part is, I have a catalog show going on in Michigan right now, so I was able to send her a link to the website, so that her friends can just order that way if they want too. And I am doing a show in Phoenix next week for my sister, who just wanted to send some email invitations. Guess what else you can do from the website??? Yup, email invites. Granted, I didn’t plan to pay for this just now, but it is done, and I know for me it will be a good thing. Oh, and did I mention that it will be a race to get me out of town??? Yup, trying to beat the snow. Right now they are saying Friday… but with my luck, it will show up Thursday… so I am leaving a little earlier than planned!!

It was absolutely gorgeous outside today!! I haven’t heard what our high was… but it is 10 o’clock and it is still 63 out there. (weather just said… we hit a record high for today… 74 degrees!!)

I love that Daylight Savings started early this year… except the whole computer stuff. Actually the only thing that seems to have a problem is our TIVO, which is not a big deal, cuz the shows are showing at the right ‘time’ just that the time on the top of the guide is off by an hour (so when I look it shows that the news is on NOW, but it says it is 9:00) Personally I wish we would just stay on this time and stop changing times all together!

Today at school I was singing ‘If your happy that it’s spring clap your hands’ Yes, a take on ‘If you are happy and you know it’! I just wish I had a screen or some way to open the french doors in the dinning area… well, I can, but the cats want to then go out. I put up a baby gate and Ken kept saying he was amazed they didn’t just go over. I laughed, I think they were chicken. He didn’t believe me when I told him how good Kyra is about chasing down the cats when they do get out. I was grilling Brats for dinner and at one point I took the gate down and left it and Lola ran out. Kyra did her thing, pinned her down on the deck and kept her there until he grabbed her. He came in… You were right, she doesn’t let them go anywhere. She is a good dog!!! Anyone have a screen on french doors? I can’t even open the windows… cuz they don’t open.

Ok, I had to post a quick Congratulations to Bekki, who had a little girl last Saturday (and yes, I am just now finding out). This little girl will be well spoiled with 4 older brothers!!! Congrats Bekki, I am so happy for you!!

Ok, so I am going to try and move all the ‘medical’ stuff back over to better me… so that those who don’t want to, don’t have to read about all the icky sickness stuff I have going on. I did update there tonight… as I was talking about a new medication I am on… again (not one I have been on before, but yet another medication)

I am thinking I will go to work tomorrow since the doctor doesn’t seemed to concerned about anything going on with me. I just want to be better before Spring Break.

Dh started reading the fine print for the Pampered Chef website, and it turns out that once I am qualified and can get my website, I still can’t link it from here. UGH. So, anyone who wants to see my website when it is up and going will have to email me!! (or if you want a catalog before then, let me know… I have a show closing tomorrow and one next week :))

Anyway, I am off to bed. I have work even though the dd doesn’t have school!! Have a great Friday. Oh man, that means it is Thursday and I forgot to do TT… which btw, didn’t end up closing down after all. Well, next week, when I am not sick!!

Oh my goodness. Last week I had a nasty sinus infection. So today when I started having a HORRIFIC amount of drainage, I wasn’t that surprised, especially when it is clear… although the almost gagging til I throw up part I could have done without.

I felt fine all day. Went to work, went to the podiatrist and got the all clear on my toes… and I went to the school to volunteer, although they didn’t need me cuz I had already sent a note saying I wouldn’t be there (cuz K was suppose to go to the dentist). Anyway, about 3, the nausea hit. Oh man. I was sure it was from the drainage… so I just sort of vegged the rest of the afternoon. We picked Ken up from work so he could go to his meeting, and I went to our room and fell asleep about 6. From then on things went downhill.

I did get up and make K some dinner… about 7:45… and Ken called about 8:15 that he is on his way home (with ice cream… all I wanted was sherbit, cuz milk sure didn’t sound good!!!) It is a good thing, cuz K has CSAPs tomorrow. About 9:30 I started shaking… and hurting from head to toe… like I did when I had strep right before Mono. Then about 10:30 the fever spiked. I finally took some Advil about 11:30… cuz I was worried about throwing it up. I have been praying TO throw up since about 5:30… but I am one that just doesn’t!! Anyway, here it is, almost 2 AM, and all my temp has done is go UP. I am up to 101.3, which for me is really HIGH!! (I only ran around 101 when I had meningitis!!!) I am so hot that I can’t sleep. Obviously the Advil didn’t help the fever, although it did help the shaking and I am not ‘as’ sore as I was (but I do still hurt). I just keep wondering what is going around.

Belinda has been sick for 2 weeks with this sinus stuff (ok, we came down with it at the same time) But I was on meds and she just kept getting worse. FINALLY yesterday they got her to go to the doctor and they gave her 3 different medicatons!! She is finally feeling better. I hope she can make it to work tomorrow, cuz I know at this point, I can’t make it… and tomorrow is registration for the general public!

Ok, I am going back to bed. I was hoping that sitting down here for a bit would help me cool off (that and I know I will need to print my med sheet for the doctor tomorrow, cuz I am DEFINITLY going in… if I make it til morning!!) Hey, at least they say my toes are better!!! Oh, and did I mention, I have a MANDITORY meeting tomorrow with the children’s director (not just me, but all of us at work). Maybe I can call in to hear what she is saying.

It was a fun day… although I am totally exhausted and heading to bed. Of course I had to come down and hit iTunes as soon as I got home to pick up songs I heard being sung tonight. K took a friend with her. They had so much fun. It was nice that she had someone to keep her company while we waited for 3 hours to get in… but we also sat in the 2nd row (on the side, and I am glad, cuz as it was K was complaining about it being too loud near the end)

She has decided she REALLY likes Hawk Nelson. This is the 2nd time she has seen them. I was really frustrated, cuz I waited the whole show to hear Jeremy Camp, and that is when the girls had had enough. I did get them to not actually leave the building though, so that I did get to hear the last few songs.. especially Beautiful One. NewSong sang Rescue… I so love that song… we sing it at church. And yes, I had to buy it… now to sync the iPod!!

I do think that she enjoyed the Chris Tomlin concert a little more a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed tonight, that was just different. Chris does so many Praise & Worship songs… all the words to all the songs all night were up on the screen so we could sing along. The did that tonight, but only for a couple of songs… granted, one of them was Rescue And tonight is more geered toward teenagers than adults or even the younger kids. It was still fun… and definitely worth only $10 each!!
