Crayons, Playdoh & Wax

Leslie’s Life being colored, shaped and molded

Oh Man

I so can’t believe it. Last night, what was the last thing I said to Ken when he said that tonight was the first softball game of the season???? Yes, I told him “Don’t Get Hurt”!!!

Tonight I am on the phone with him. He calls me at about 10 after 7, and he told me he would be done about 7. So I picked up the phone, asked him if they won… and then he asked me what I had said last night. Oh MAN! Yup, he is pretty sure he popped his Achilles tendon… right one matter of fact!! So I asked him if he wanted us to come home tomorrow instead of going to Texas. He said that he isn’t even sure if they will get him in to see the doctor before next week, so we are to go on to Texas… and even if they do surgery, it won’t be before next week… so go and we will at least get to see graduation.

Thankfully I have wonderful friends who went and helped him and took care of him. K on the other hand has been completely FREAKING OUT all afternoon since he called. And of course he tells her that he is going to have to have surgery, which just freaked her out even more. UGH!!! I think if we leave it up to her, we will be going to CO tomorrow!!!

Pictures

So, did you notice that I have new pictures in my Flickr block ->

Turns out that I can send them to my flickr account from my phone. I am impressed at how good they really do look. I took this one of K K at the Grand Canyon at the canyon… and of course I have to get a few of the newest nephew… D smiling Have you ever seen a boy who’s eyes sparkle??? :) I didn’t think about taking pictures at the graduation. Granted, my phone was dead at Joey’s, but I could have last night… when I FORGOT to take the camera!!

I am going to have them email me pictures so I will get some, espeically of the pictures I took last night on my dad’s camera. Oh well. Off and running. I finally got logged in to my email and got a bunch deleted. I got rid of all the spam anyway. Not sure what is going on. It turns out I was able to log in using all of my old log in stuff… so I have no clue where all my stuff is living at this point. I keep saying I haven’t heard from the new host, this might explain why!

2 down 1 to go

Well the 2 boys have graduated. I was feeling really strange tonight, but I am not sure what exactly it was. Last night it was just really strange being at my old school’s graduation. The difference though… instead of the guys wearing blue and the girls wearing gold, they all wore blue. I so like it better when they do the 2 colors. Tonight the guys wore red and the girls wore gold. It was really pretty, but as the younger brother put it, they didn’t do it boy, girl, boy, girl, so it looked unorganized. But I still like it better than all one color. The graduation going in after TJ’s tonight was Greenway… and the guys and girls were all in green. It got me thinking about when K graduates. At this point, I believe she will be wearing red. (the guys wear black) or if she choices to the tech school, then it will be green & gold, (and I am hoping the guys wear green and girls gold) and that is one school I haven’t been to one of their graduations yet… they have only been open a couple of years though. The Blue & gold school near us does what Apollo did though… and they all wear blue.

I need to go onto flickr and see if I can send pictures from my cell phone to it. I believe I can. I just keep forgetting to do it. This is the first time I have been on the computer since I have been here. I tried to log on a few days ago, but the IP address didn’t work. Dh sent me an email with the new IP address… and forgot to put the IP address in the email ;)

Someone Please Confirm The Date….

Yes, it is MAY!! The 23rd of MAY to be exact… and it is SNOWING outside!!! Yes, I know it will be gone tomorrow, but still… UGH! (it is suppose to be in the 60’s tomorrow and sunshine!!!)

I just keep laughing, wouldn’t this just be the perfect ending to the wirdest school year we have had… a delay on the last day of school… cuz of SNOW!!!

I have to go make a jello salad for the dd’s class potluck. It is a good thing I like to be cold… or I would really be upset about this whole snow thing ;) I just love my flowers, which are still not all in the ground… and if I don’t do that before Friday, Ken will kill them!! (as it is, I had to bring in all the tomatoes tonight!!)

Yup, I am still alive

although with my breathing since last week, I was beginning to wonder. The weirdest part is, I definitley have Broncitis, but my asthma has not been a factor… other than the weird wheezing sound that I have been making, but it is totally from secretions, not that I am tight. I have been having such a horrible cough… I had to do the prescription cough medicine. I tired to go last night without it (just the over the counter stuff… by the way, sugar free is even more nasty tasting!!!!) and at 3 am, I was coughing so bad, I even woke Ken up. I have about 1 dose left, so I called for a refill, and of course the doctor didn’t call it in today… so I am SOOOO glad I didn’t take that last dose this afternoon!!!

I am finally feeling a little better today. I started on an antibiotic on Saturday, but it wasn’t the one the doctor ordered (she wouldn’t give me the one I wanted), but since I wasn’t getting better, I finally filled the Rx she gave me yesterday. Today I am feeling a little better…. other than still having the cough.

I saw the neurologist today… but wrote that over at Better Me… My legs are giving me fits tonight from the EMG today though.

I am leaving Friday for the graduation rounds. 2 in Phoenix, and 1 in Texas.

My niece H will be 18 on Sunday, 062306heather and although she is the oldest, she is graduating last… thus the reason Texas is the end of the trip.

TJ gets to graduate the day before his 18th birthday,090206TJ which is next Thursday, graduation is Wednesday night.

And the little brother won’t be 18 til the end of next month (last day of June to be exact), joel072006 and he gets to graduate first… next Tuesday.

Of course I bought them all Pampered Chef for graduating gifts, but Hey, they are going to be living in Dorms… what better gifts than stuff you can use with a toaster oven (since they can have those and not a microwave… BOYS and their blowing up things… ruins it for everyone ;))

I am proud of them all. H is going in the Army… reserves, while doing the law school thing.

TJ got accepted into 2 very prestigious schools/programs. Just waiting to see which he goes for. Either way he wants to be a pilot. I suggested he try and get into the AF academy. (he shot that one down)

And Joel got a scholarship from his ROTC. He is trying to decide between military and school. (Probably needs to do community college for a year or 2 if he does the school route, cuz he let his grades slip when he had to change schools his Junior year). He is one smart kid (runs in the family) ;) I told him he should try for the Air Force… but I am bias… the academy is right here in town.

Anyway, as I found out on the spring break run, I can access my computer from my Mom’s house… so that will be cool. (and I am sure I can from my SIL’s too) So, that will work. Probably be updated more from there than it is when I am home ;) Not sure when I am leaving my Mom’s to head to Texas. I need to route the trip and find how long it will take to drive from Phoenix to Texas. I am figuring it will be about 20 hours or so… I just need to be there by Sunday evening.

I probably won’t update before I get to Phoenix. I promised K we could do 4 corners & The Grand Canyon on our way to Grandma’s. (she wanted me to do it at spring break… I told her there was NO WAY I was doing Wolf Creek Pass in March!!! It will be enough of a question at this time of the year!) The only reason I actually came down here was I was trying to find my passport. I knew right where it was, just had to find the right folder from our trip in January. K doesn’t have one, so I am laminating the cc size birth certificate that we got for her. My SIL said they don’t have a problem crossing over, but my sister went to Mexico a couple of months ago and they really harassed her about the girls. SIL said they are more concerned about SSN, so maybe I will copy her SS card and laminate it to the back of the Birth certificate. I already have her school ID, so we should be covered. (besides, you aren’t suppose to have a passport to walk across until ‘08) I am definitely planning on getting K one… especially with family in Michigan and Texas/Arizona…. all of which are close to borders.

School Is Out…

For me anyway :) Yesterday was my last day of work for this school year! We really did have great classes!! I will miss my friends, but will enjoy the time off work!

I am not feeling well… Sometimes it really bits having asthma! But I will save that for Better Me. (not to mention the waiting game going on today!!!)
K had their field day yesterday, and came home crying. Apparently her class kept coming in 3rd the whole day (there are only 3 classes in her grade) and one of the other classes were being really POOR winners and teasing K’s class. I felt so bad for her. Then as we were talking, it turns out that she never really actually HEARD any of the teasing, she just heard the other kids in her class talking about it and one of her friends was crying.

I hope the teachers bite this one quickly!

Oh, and if anyone would like to order any of the Help Whip Cancer stuff from PC, then email me. I love that they do some pink items every May. $1 of each item sold goes to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer awareness and education. Oh, and if you would like my newsletter, please join my yahoo group.

Ok, I have been up since 4:30 again this morning… I swear the cats were trying for 3:30… but I didn’t give into that one!! So I have no excuse not to go make breakfast for everyone. Hey, I can use my new Waffle Iron they bought me for Mother’s Day!!!

Sorry For The Craziness

I was so good. I came down, sent the email to everyone I had emailed the prayer request to (lists that is) and never updated the Blog.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers for my dad! The echo results came back and it is not the pericardial sac as the doctors thought. So there will be no surgery for that. Praise the Lord!! Please continue to pray as they try and figure out what is causing his shortness of breath. He is scheduled to see a pulmonologist. Everything that the cardiologist thought was causing the problems have turned out to be completely fine.

Anyway, thank you again for all the prayers.

I need to go update at Better Me as well, cuz I am pretty sure I didn’t update after the trip the Neurologists office.

18 Years…

Oh my goodness… do you realize if we had gotten PG when we first got married like everyone was predicting… we could be the parents of a child getting ready to graduate high school… or for that matter, we could be grandparents! Oh man!!

Yes, it has been 18 years… Wow and to think, it sure doesn’t feel like that long. Granted, it doesn’t feel like just yesterday, but it sure doesn’t feel like it has been 18 years!!! Yes, this means we did get married in the 80’s!!

This year has been a tough year, but has it been the worst?? In some ways yes… but you know, if you don’t go through stuggles, you don’t grow, right? And I do think we will be stronger and happier because of it. Speaking of which, the dh is in bed already and I should be there as well.

As for a gift, definitely not going to be as big as the one last year… although since I no longer have the Van… just a 2nd car would be nice, but that isn’t happening just now either. 18 years is Porcelin… No, I don’t need a new toilet!
Happy Anniversary Honey, I love you!!!

Not Paid enough!!!

They just said on the radio that if a SAHM was paid for everything she does, she would make $138,000 a year… and if you are a working Mom, you make an additional $85,000 a year. I can say that I am not even close.

Too Many Signs???

Guess I need to be careful about what I complain about to God. Here I complained that He woke me up at 5:45 on a Saturday morning… so what happens? Yesterday he wakes me up at 4:30… yes, that is IN THE MORNING. Instead of doing something productive, I laid in bed for awhile (I did pray as it was the National Day Of Prayer!) and then picked up my phone to play a game. So what does He do??? He wakes me up at 4:30 Again this morning!!! So this morning I laid there and prayed for a bit and then I finally got up and cleaned the family room. I have learned. When God wakes you up, don’t just ignore Him, cuz he won’t give up!!!
Not sure about any of this, but wondering if it is a sign or something, but yesterday not only did our picture of Jesus FALL OFF THE WALL, but on the way down, it took our my Willow Tree Mom/daughter and Father/daughter, decapitating both of the PARENTS! It was bad enough that Jesus fell and broke, but then both of the parents?? Just a little weird for me!! Anyway, I got all the glass cleaned up, I just need to vacuum.

I know I will sleep through my MRI this afternoon, that is for sure!! Anyway, I have learned… when God answers a prayer, don’t complain about it, right??
