End Of June

Can you believe it is the end of June already?? Oh my this year has gone fast. I know they say that the older you get the fast the time goes, but this is getting ridiculous! ;)

We had a beautiful thunderstorm yesterday. A tornado actually touched down in Woodland Park, which is really unusual, because of their altitude. Apparently it is only the 5th in history recorded up there. We had a funnel cloud down here, which in itself is weird. Usually the clouds come up over the hill and bounce over our town and hit the plans. I have been here for 17 years… We are back into our daily afternoon rains though… which I am enjoying, cuz it is keeping things cooled down.

Dh gets his cast off on Monday, and will FINALLY be in a walking boot. I can’t believe it has been almost 4 weeks. I need to go see an orthopedic doctor myself, but since it is my right ARM, one of us needs to be able to drive. Guess we will see what happens :)

I so love the 4th Of July… but I am just not looking forward to it. I have figured out that since we have been married, I have had really bad hormone issues around that time. Granted, it is probably a coincidence, but still!! I am going to try and just be happy and enjoy celebrating!

Craft Fun

Did I mention that I shut down Crafty Crayons? At least I think I did. I know I killed the email address. (I am only allowed 5 at the new host :()

I actually completed my first Storybook. I decided that since all of my pictures are on the computer, that I am so frustrated with the fact I never get them printed out, so I logged into a friends Creative Memories website and downloaded their storybook program. I did our trip to Michigan first. It was so fun. I actually need to go and read the directions though, cuz I think you can actually use more than 1 template in the book. (but not sure about that). I haven’t sent it off to print yet, because I want a picture of my Uncle. I am frustrated because all of my sisters pictures were on my parents computer when the brother killed it. Yah, Dad was not happy, they lost over a thousand pictures that had not been backed up. I had NO pictures of my Mom, my sister and I together from that trip. I need to scan in the 4 generation picture we had taken, the problem is that we are missing a cable for the scanner. I am thinking it is the power cord. It is probably with the power cord for the speakers. (all of a sudden my headphone quit, well, the hp still work, just not on the computer… so now I have no sound on this thing… so frustrating. I haven’t been able to finish my PC training since I have no sound)

Next up is K’s baby book. She has been bugging me to do that. I had already decided to do that. I am going to do her a big 11×8 and do the grandparents each an 8×8. I know for her I will be doing more of different sections, like baby, Toddler, preschool, school days. Just not sure how many, kwim? All I know is I am having a really fun time.

Yay!!

Ken had his appointment this morning with the ortho doc. He did NOT tear his meniscus like they thought, so that is a good thing. No surgery!!! He is healing well, so they did take out his stitches, Stitches are out YAY! He is back in a cast (I think cuz they were nervous that he fell down the stairs last week) So he gets to keep the cast for 2 more weeks. Cast 2 On the 2nd, he will get his walking boot. In the mean time, Ken can go back to work, but still only half days. They are still worried about the incision. K picked out the color. I told Ken it was because she wanted a color we could sign without having to use only Silver!! (the blue was hard… silver was pretty much it) (btw, if you click on the pictures, it will take you to the bigger picture)

The funeral has been set, for Thursday morning. It has been one of those weird days for them. The hot water heater broke. I told Belinda if they need to take showers over here, they are welcome and we have a nice HUGE hot water heater!

It is suppose to be, let me think of the term Ken used, “wickedly scorching hot” the next few days, so we actually have the air ON in the house. Do you know how nice it is to say that??? :)

Flickr Fun

So I think I figured out how to post on my blog from the phone. So not only can I post pics on flickr, but now I can blog too.

I also got busy playing on flickr last nite and found the setting that shoots me an email when a friend or family post a new pic. I love new toys! Did you know that if you have a yahoo address you can use flickr. And some of my pictures you have to be logged in as one of my friends or family to see them. So email me when you log into flickr and I will add you to my list of friends.

I Wish…

He would stop freaking me out!!! Yes, that would be the dh. I sent emails last night and forgot to update here. The doctors office had the MRI results back, but didn’t tell us the results… so I am guessing this means we wait til Tuesday! Turns out that one foot in a cast isn’t enough excitement… so last night, he fell down the stairs… and hurt his shoulder and the big toe on his OTHER foot. He is pretty sure when he fell he caught himself with his right arm, thus jamming it up into the shoulder, and that is why the should hurts (and the arm has nice red marks all up and down the forearm). The big toe, he decided this afternoon, must have gotten hit by his cast. I need to take a newer picture than the one from yesterday, cuz the whole toe from the bottom of the nail up is dark reddish purple. Yah, and he was wearing a shoe at the time! I offered to cancel our therapy session, but he figured if he was that far down, we might as well keep going. I made him ice his toe when we got home… and of course I couldn’t resist a photo op like that one… Pittiful?

I need to take a picture of my hands. The doctor tried telling me that the blisters I get are eczema related. Maybe, but I am completely convinced they are ‘STRESS’ related!!

I talked to B tonight. They got the coroner’s report, but the tox screens aren’t back yet. At this point there is a bruise on his forehead and bite marks on his tongue, consistent with a seizure. Guess we will wait and see what else they find… cuz the family found a bunch of other interesting things and have gone to the police. Please keep praying!!

What A Day

So I went over to Belinda’s this afternoon. Oh my. I felt so helpless. All I could do was to give her a big hug and pray. I felt even worse finding out that I had sent out the incorrect information. Granted, it was probably the normal assumption that people would make. If you hear that ‘my brother died’, most people would assume it is the brother in Iraq.

Rob had epilepsy, so of course the coroner is assuming, but at this point, there is only speculation. They will be doing an autopsy tomorrow. Dad will get in later tonight, he works in California. I am just praying at this point that there will be clear and definite answers as to why this otherwords perfectly normal young man died in 4 inches of water. There are just so many questions… and a girlfriend who was Not nice to the family. D, the next youngest brother got so upset today that he punched the house and broke his hand. Granted, he had taken in enough alcohol that he probably didn’t feel it, but still, that is going to hurt… and just another thing for them all to worry about. All I could do for him was to pray for peace. God has a plan, and I believe that He would keep His children safe. I like to think there is a reason Rob was called home now.
Just keep them all in your prayers. They are so sure that there was foul play and the boys tend to have really bad tempers.

I just helped the dd clean up the guest room. Yah, I asked her to do it earlier while I was gone. Nope (although when I asked her she said she did it). When we got back from taking Ken to his meeting (he was really freaking out about that one… someone is trying to put their project on hold and he isn’t happy!!) I asked her to pick up the room, and told her that it isn’t my fault if her friends helped make the mess and she didn’t have them help clean up before they left. Anyway, I finally broke down and went in and helped her… it took us 5 minutes. Yes, 5 minutes. She would have spent the whole day and still not gotten it done. Is this an age thing or have I been that bad at teaching her how to clean???

Anyway, I have offered not only our guest room, but also our hide-a-bed to Belinda for anyone she needs to find a room for since she has such a large family. Her sister was already here. It was a total God thing!

Huge Prayer Request

Please pray for the Bennett family. Belinda, who I am the aide for at work, and Jeani, who I have been close with since she was a youth (I was her confirmation mentor when she went through confirmation) and then had her dd in my class this past year. Jeani’s twin brother Richard was killed today in Iraq.

Oh MY GOODNESS!!! I got to the house, all I had heard Jeani say on the phone was that her brother had died this morning. What I didn’t find out until I got to the house was that it was ROBERT, they found him dead in a bathtub at his girlfriends house. I think they feel so lost now, because he is not the one they expected to have something happen too. People don’t die from seizures. They are doing an autopsy.

Thank you!

The Knee

Ken realized last night  what had happened to his knee. I was totally an accident, but Kyra had jumped up on the bed over the weekend, while K and I were at Haley’s Dance recital. She landed on his leg, causing him to jerk and twist. He said his incision was hurting after it had happened, but that had to have been when it happened.

The dog is really confused about what is going on and is kind of freaking out about the whole situation. I mean, Dad is in bed ALL day, Mom is doing everything. It is like having a little child in the house who has no clue. She just comes in and insists on laying between us in the bed. She has to be right next to Ken. Yah, it is fun!

The good news is, I drove the car to the grocery store last evening without event!!! Yay!!! Keep praying on this one!!!!

And We Found #3

All bad things happen in 3’s right??? Yup, remember how I have mentioned that we only have 1 car. Yah, guess what is having issues. I was thinking, maybe some bad gas. So I filled the car from a reputable company, and my dad said I would know within about 3 miles if it was that we had had bad gas (there is a problem around town with some of the less reputable companies and water in the gas). So, off to Checker I went to get a new fuel filter. (I had looked for one on Sunday when we were at Wally World, but they didn’t carry one for our car). I check at Checker, and THEY don’t carry one for our car either. Great, that leaves me with the dealer. I call the dealer… and THEY don’t carry one for our car either… CUZ IT IS PART OF THE FUEL PUMP!!!! Yah, and to replace the pump is over $300 just for the parts!!! I am praying that the bottle of Gunk Fuel Injector cleaner that I bought put in tank will take care of the problem. Please pray this works cuz I sure don’t want to have to go the other route!!!

I’m off to look up the 2 new codes that showed up today!

And…

On we go…

So yesterday Ken started complaining about a spot on his knee (above the splint) hurting. I was looking at it, and it was swollen, but not where it hurts. I called the doctor, cuz of course I was worried about a blood clot, and we moved his appointment to today.

We went in today… and he has an MRI tomorrow. The dr thinks he also tore his meniscus… I was trying to figure out how it could have happened, so I asked if he had slid? Nope. Did he fall? Nope. So finally I asked if he buckled when the Achilles popped and he said Yes. I am thinking if he did something, that that must have been when it happened. Guess we will know. I told the doctors office today that I wanted to get this going because if he has to have surgery on his knee too… I want it done while his is already incapacitated. (he already did this to his left knee… about 11 years ago at the same park… at the same base! I already told him he would not be playing softball at 4-D anymore!!!) ;)

Praise is that the wound looks really wonderful!! The doctor looked at ME when he said we did good :) and then asked if I had to beat him down ;)

Prayers tomorrow for definite results. New Cast pictures are on Flickr. Have I mentioned that I LOVE the fact I can send them from my phone??? Updated much faster!!!!
