I am so glad I came to the pre-conference! Beth Moore has been so fabulous! And she is funny to! God has blessed this woman and given her a gift of teaching!!! More Tonight when the regular conference starts.
The saddest part is I had a really bad feeling when the ‘big boss’ came in and told Belinda that she wanted to talk to her about something and asked her to come to her office at the end of the day. I feel bad for her. They told Belinda that she can’t bring the gd to class unless she pays for her. One of the few perks that we have had for our job was that we could bring our children with us. Apparently I can’t even bring K with me on the couple of days that I have to work and she doesn’t have school. It isn’t as big of a deal for me, cuz Ken can work from home if needed, but K loves going in with me. Going to have to pray about this whole thing!
Saturday I went to Girl Scout training. Not that I haven’t done it before, but since it was in 1986… I think it was a while ago
I have been a leader for the last 4 years, but never did the training. I think it helps that it is now free! I go to troop level training next week. I came home and then had Girl Scouts on the brain the rest of the day… and other than going to family therapy, I worked on Girl Scout stuff. I need to take the letter over to the school to send home to the parents in the Monday folders. I know everyone’s class but one. Hopefully the office can tell me which class she is in, since I know what grade.
Yesterday we went to church and then it was the fall kids kickoff, so we had burgers for lunch and then K and F (Belinda’s grandbaby) went and ran around in the bounce houses and did the cupcake walk. Fun was had by all. I then went over to Belinda’s to help her with her computer. I ended up spending the whole afternoon there. I sure didn’t expect to do that… but then I remembered it was after 2:30 when I got there, so it wasn’t that bad.
Friday K and I got our first stripe at Karate. 3 more and we get to test for our purple belt. My legs were SOOO sore all weekend. It was the first time that we did the WHOLE lesson with EVERYONE. They had pulled us out on our own for the anchoring classes. K has this infatuation going on. I am not sure if it is her or him that is infatuated at the moment… but it is cute. He is a 5th grader at her school… and apparently will make sure he says hi to her when he sees her at school. He is also in Karate… and Friday night, when he was standing there talking to her, he had his hand on her shoulder. It was so cute, but I am glad Ken wasn’t there
Ken has informed K that he (the boy) is moving to Canada. Yah, that is his answer for everyone that shows an interest in his dd. He says he is talking to their parents and having them shipped to Canada. At the rate they are going, there will be quite a few new Male Canadians
Well, I need to go weigh in before I go to the school. I have no idea what is going on over at Better Me, but I am going to try and reload Wordpress to see if that takes care of my posting issues. Believe it or not, the last 3 posts have all had nice LONG entries in them!!! I have no idea what I did to my neck, but it started hurting last night. I sure hope it is better by morning… (work) we have 7 kids on Tuesday… the rest of the week is light. I can’t believe our classes are not full!!!
Ok, so when K and I got ready to go to Phoenix back in May, Ken decided to give us a challenge… instead of just writing down the license plates we see, we were to take a picture of each of the different license plates. We can do that. We actually have had a really good time with this. Not long after we left, we realized how many different license plates each state has, and this summer has taken on a life of it’s own. Not only did we start taking pictures of each state plate, we have taken a picture of EVERY DIFFERENT PLATE we have seen. (I believe we are at somewhere around 25 just for Colorado). (except when I actually had someone demand that I delete their plate from my camera… I wanted to ask who he was hiding from… cuz if I was wanting to google a license plate number, I could have just written it down!!!)
Oh, and since we expanded this whole license plate game that we have been doing… we also expanded the time… and decided that it would last until Labor Day. We have 49 states, Washington DC, 3 provinces from Canada, and we saw some from Mexico but didn’t get the picture. (and the wierdest part is that the one province we don’t have is Ontario… but the day isn’t over yet). The one state we are missing is Vermont… and I realized about 3 weeks ago, that the reason we are probably missing it is because it basically looks like the Colorado Truck plate… all green with white letters and a small white border.
A friend of mine said last night that we should just look it up online. I told her that it was cheating and it had to be on a car. Ken then told K that if she could find a picture of a Vermont license plate online without Mom helping, he would let it count.
She did just that and then she printed it out. Ken then told her that she needed to take a picture of it… and I guess she remembered what Mom said about it having to be on a car… So, she cut it out, taped it to the back of her Barbie Bug and then took it out front and took a picture of it in the driveway. I was laughing so hard. (thus my comment in my twitter!!) She was very proud of herself!!!
Oh, and we have had an absolute Ball. I might blur out some of the numbers and put all the different plates up that we have seen this summer… it has been so fun!!! Oh, and my Dad even took a picture of a license plate in Tonga for us when he was there!!
Ken says when I post on the phone, that the entries look horrible, but what is really sad, I can type faster than the computer puts in words. If I am paying attention to what I am typing, I can get a full sentence ahead of what I am writing. I can’t get my Firefox to let me put in an address in the address box… so the only pages I can do is the stuff in my bookmarks and stuff I can google… Oh, cuz it does let me google!! Go figure. But since I FINALLY learned how to do T9, the phone is almost faster!! (and more reliable, I just having figured out how to do a paragraph break on my phone… I finally figured it out on gmail though, so that is a step in the right direction…)
I have been having fun with Facebook… Yah, I am an application junky. And of course, if they are anything fun, I have to share them with all my friends. I have been having a lot of fun with my daulphin… Phin
He is a fluffFriend. I wonder if I can put him on here?? :)Well, I really should get some sleep… but I figure if I go to sleep now, I won’t wake up in time for the balloons. It is now 2:25… and I need to get up at 4:45… I probably should just stay up, but then I will sleep all day. We are going to the glow tomorrow night. My radio station is doing a dinner at the glow tomorrow, and the first 200 people that rsvp’d gets to go, and we rsvp’d, so we are going
and I get to meet a friend from online that I haven’t met in person yet… she is going too. Well, I am off to get about 2 hours sleep… maybe I will take a regular release adderall instead of the XR, then it will have kicked in about 5 :)Happy Labor Day! Oh, and check back tomorrow for pictures on Flickr!!! They should be cool!!!
