Crayons, Playdoh & Wax

I just can’t believe that I have been so sick this week. This stupid Respiratory gunk is just enough. I woke up short of breath on Saturday, and figured it was just allergies. I went to the doctor on Monday cuz my throat had started hurting so bad. Strep was negative, so she said it was a cold and sent me home. Tuesday night, I ended up waking up the On-Call doctor because I basically coughed from 3-4 am. I didn’t go to work Tuesday or Wednesday… and anyone who talked to me on the phone didn’t even questioned why.

Thursday I went back to the doctor, and since my PCP doesn’t work on Thursday, I had to see her partner, who gave me AND K antibiotics. (he figured she is just a couple of days behind me). The antibiotics have helped some parts, but not all, and I tell you, I still feel rotten!!! My tongue hurts, like I have thrush, except I am not on steroids, and there is no white patches… but it feels like it is swollen to the back of my throat. (You know that horrible pain you get when you burn your tongue… yah, imagine that all over the whole thing and down the back of your throat). It hurts to breath, unless I am breathing through my nose… so to say that I work on keeping my nose cleared is an understatement… but it is not easy when you are so congested. This just bites. 

Cookie orders are due in today. I have 5 of them. I am very proud of my girls. The first 3 orders I totaled, actually beat their goals. But these were also the 3 girls in our troop that did NOT set their goal at 500.  My dd and her best friend are within 2 boxes of each other. Not too shabby!!! I have all our stuff in the computer and ready to go… as soon as I get the last of the numbers. Her mom said she has about 100 boxes… so that is good! 

Ok, I am going to bed. My head is killing me, but I had to get on this thing. And my MIL probably thinks I will never call her with the totals for her Pampered Chef show. I need to get that done and sent in tomorrow. I was really excited when my new spring catalogs came in the mail yesterday!!!

What a crazy weekend. I never even got time to sit down and write a blog entry. I so can’t believe that K turned 10 yesterday.  

It is just not possible. Mom and Dad got here Thursday night, and I swear, all I have been doing is running every since. I worked on Friday morning, then by the time I got the car and took Ken lunch, it was time to go to therapy. Mom and Dad got stranded at the house, but went and had lunch with K at school. Kids LOVE to have grandparents come visit. It is so much cooler than Mom and Dad!!!

When I got home, Dad and I ran to pick up the gift for K. We had called ALL over town looking for a PINK Nintendo DS. We found black and white, but not pink… but Mom finally located one. I stopped at Girl Scout concil on the way home to get K the sweat shirt I have been planning to get her and then we were running late for karate. I probably wouldn’t have gone since Mom and Dad are here, but K was very excited that Grandma and Papa were going to get to see her work out. We ended up not eating til almost 8 (we picked up Ken after Karate) and so it was almost 10 by the time we got home.

Saturday morning I was running to Wally World to get kleenex and the soda for the party, and ended up spending over 2 hours there. I didn’t spend $300 like my normal 2+ hour trips are, but still. We were then running late for our Kama workshop. Ken had a fit, wanting to know why we were going to a karate thing on Saturday, that was optional non the less. I asked everyone before I actually gave them the money on Friday night. Well, it turned out that we were not late, it didn’t start until 12:30. Ok, it is still only 1 hour. So when it is 1:30, and they are still going, I asked the instructor. Turns out that the fliers said until 2. Yah, I didn’t see that, and since Ken was already upset, K and I left early, but we had learned everything, so we still get our certificate.

I went home and cleaned some. Why I cleaned before 6 Tweeniers came over, I have no idea, because by Sunday morning, you sure couldn’t tell it was clean!!! K’s party was at Build-A-Bear. She and the other girls seemed to have a really good time. K made a beagle. I was surprised she didn’t go for the valentine dog… so I made it for me She is really cute!!

I finally fell asleep by about 2. Most of the girls were asleep at that point, but a few hold outs were still up. Thankfully Mom was here, and she had said something to them about 2:30 and they finally crashed. When my meds wear off, I have a little bit of an issue staying awake. (and Ken was no help, he put in ear phones when he went to bed. Good thing a fire alarm didn’t go off!!!)

And then Sunday I woke up with a sore throat. I didn’t think much of it at first, just thought it was sinus drainage, cuz I had woke up Saturday with extra secretions and increased asthma issues… but by last night it felt really icky. I feel bad now that I had people over. I should have stayed in the bedroom and let the dh with the people anxiety host (yah, like that would have EVER happened!!!)

This morning I can barely talk. I woke up at 6 coughing. Laid in bed listening to the radio waiting for the doctors office to open. In the mean time I won the morning Brain Teaser… and got a $30 gift certificate to a local coffee shop and 4 tickets to My Little Pony. Granted, K likes to play with them still, but I think she is getting a little old… so we are going to take my friend and her 2 year old

I FINALLY got my MSLT results, but I am going to go put that over at Better Me. Enjoy your MLK day. Oh man, I have a friend whose dd is on the Chrysalis flight this weekend and I so wanted to go to candle light last night. I just now remembered it. Oh well. I will write her a nice note to get when she gets home tonight.

K is half way to her goal for Cookies!! Yay!! If I missed anyone, let me know. We got a sample of our new cookie… the cinna-spin. It is really yummy and comes in 100 calorie packs!! (you get 5 packs). Not too bad!! Dad did good and had her come in to work. We had one lady who came around the corner and said, did I hear a girl actually selling her own cookies?? and proceeded to order 14 boxes from her!! It paid to take her in and have her sell at Daddy’s work… that and he works at a company that ministers to children!!!

Man, I usually do this really nice entry, put pictures on here and tell people if they want to order to email me. But I found out today that I can’t sell cookies on the internet, I can only send emails specific to a person. Ok, I can so do that as well… I just hope I don’t miss anyone :)  Yes, I have cookies on the brain. I spent my morning at training to be the cookie mom, then came home and got the packets all ready for the girls to pick them up. I guess we are doing ok. 50% of the troop has them I put a big sign in the front window… I figure people going up and down the street will know… plus will keep other girls from knocking on the door… they will know we already sell them!!!

I am glad it is Friday, but man, this not feeling good is getting old. I am not throwing up, but man, nausea sucks!! And I hurt my elbow at kickboxing on Monday, doing triceps lifts. Not sure if I popped something or just twisted it wrong. I finally decided to make a doctors appointment because it hurts to lift the kids, but can’t get in until Monday. I got a bruise on my finger from getting clocked with a short stick (I was worried about the bruise cutting off circulation to my finger, because the end is colder than the rest) at karate last night. And since my doctor appointment is on Monday, I figure I will know one way or the other about the finger by then! And of course, the bruised finger is one hand, the elbow is the other.  

Belinda is still sick. She has been sick since the beginning of the year. Last week it was strep, but I am not convinced that is still the case. She has missed all 4 days at this point. I am really worried about her. she has never been this sick. She is normally the one who can go the whole year and not miss a day!! At this point, I have only missed 1 day being sick.   

Mom and Dad got their tickets to come up next weekend for K’s birthday. We are having a Build-A-Bear party. Man, if we hadn’t already given out invitations and put down our deposit, I sure would be spending that kind of money… we are so broke right now. But then again, turning 10 is such a big deal in a girls life. This last week I gave K my spare blow dryer. I said to her, guess what I got for my 10th Birthday… my first blow dryer. (Hey, back then it was a BIG deal). I had been talking to her about a curling iron, but she didn’t think she could do that on her own yet! I still haven’t figured out what I want to get her for her birthday. I want to get her something special, just from me (and maybe her dad) but not a toy. (not that I won’t get her a toy… but I want something special also) I still can’t believe 10 years ago today I was very much Pregnant and waiting to see her face!! 9 more days.

and I have to figure out why I have to manually put in all the paragraph breaks on this layout!!!

I upgraded Wordpress tonight… got Better me upgraded as well… and now it works and I gave that one a face lift as well… it has had watermelons since I switched to Wordpress I think ;). Ken is going to start blogging at Better me as well. And incase you didn’t notice… I decided to give this thing a face lift. It is nothing fancy, but the site has been blue since Jenny made it, for like a year and a half, so I decided it was time for a change. Still working on the side bar, but for now, we are orange I just need to fix that PINK on the twitter!!

So what a fun and exciting way to start the new year. Well I did decide that since last year was not real great, I wanted to start this one with some Austi! We stood in the bedroom, watched the fireworks on Pikes Peak, and listened to the dd running around the house screaming that wonderful high pitched scream that all the tweeners seem to love to do!! She made a sign saying 2008 is going to be great and then taped it to a  pencil.   Oh, and did I mention that dh and dd both snubbed their noses to the Austi, so I got to pour their cups into mine. Oh darn!

We then went to bed, and soon dh was up and throwing up. Yah, what a great way to start the new year. So, our traditional New Years day brunch at our friends house didn’t happen. The good part is that we are home and I am actually making the Augrotten potatoes that I didn’t make on Christmas since dh was sick then too.

I got the big tree down yesterday and the living room vacuumed. I still have the small tree to take down, but waiting for Epiphany for that one.

Since we never made it to Phoenix as we originally planned, I wasn’t spending yesterday driving home. Granted, I did get to see my grandma, and I didn’t see my brother before he leaves for basic training, but we also weren’t driving in the nasty weather.I am thinking it is time to do a new layout on this thing… but I am not sure what I want to do, and I am not real good with WP. I guess I could see if anyone has any free layouts. Or I could start shopping… just have to wait for my next pay check. I need to renew Flickr first though. Maybe I will get my Mom to do that since she was giving us money to help with the drive for Christmas
